We are simply not over this trailer here:
Something about watching a baby encounter the world is absolutely enchanting. Pay close attention to the first rock-pounding sequence and reflect on St. Augustine's assertion that the effects of original sin are quite obvious in babies, who are pretty selfish by nature.
H/T to Amy Welborn, who also has a great video of actor Brian Cox giving a Shakespeare master class to a 2 1/2 year-old.

This was really cute. Thanks for posting it.
Right. When is it coming out?
I just found you blog through...someone else's, can't remember who. I just had to say that you Tea post made me audibly laugh at my computer screen when you said you haven't been doing much exercise-like thing just as moving. I'm 22 weeks and still occasionally battling sickness (I just had my first week without vomiting). It's an accomplishment when I can vacuum or clean the bathtub (while showering, no less). Anyway. I feel ya! I appreciated reading some of your other posts about the house just falling to general chaos because that's been a real stress for me being so sick. I keep worrying about all the little things I'm not doing but used to do and want to do and should do... I just felt a little better knowing someone else is the same! Thanks!
I think Babies is due in 2010.
Michelle, I feel like part of my problem is that I have such low housekeeping standards in the first place that when something comes along and throws off my system, everything goes to hell in a handbasket. That's an exaggeration, and yet right now when we can only do the most basic tasks in a timely manner, it does look a bit... barbaric... around here. I can't wait for some of this second-trimester energy I hear so much about.
That opening scene was reminiscent of The Gods Must Be Crazy, right down to the object of contention!
This looks like it could be rock-solid, or a huge flop! Either way, I'm quite intrigued!
I suspect that the impact may be along the lines of "I didn't know babies could do that!"
We had our lab Christmas party today. Yesterday I suppose. Bah. Anyway, I took the GeekBaby because Fridays are a day off so I don't have babysitting today, and they all like to see him anyway.
And he just ...awed some of them. He grabbed my open water bottle and drank from it without spilling it. He used the fork. He ate raw asparagus. He walked holding hands instead of being carried. And these are people that have kids. There's such a heavy tendency to group babies as either infants or toddlers that I don't think people are familiar with what a baby in the in between stage is really capable of doing.
