She herself had to get married just as her daughter did. Yes, look it up! Todd and Sarah had a baby (not premature)after 8 months of marriage. Today, many women have the baby first and then get married, but Palin represented abstinence and wasn't able to deliver on it. So, to me, that represents a lack of control - a lack which I see in other aspects of her career.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13522238.post-24436325405157861562008-09-13T15:26:00.000-04:002008-09-13T15:26:00.000-04:00Well, I didn't gasp, but I think I shrugged. So o...Well, I didn't gasp, but I think I shrugged.

So our panel of experts opines that an abortion is the ticket for enabling a young woman to go forth into Ozzie-and-Harriet land--maybe with a load of unspeakable baggage capable of destroying her marriage and family relationships, but hey, at least she's safely in a traditional marriage.

These guys obviously didn't grow up in the same US I did--kids marrying at Bristol Palin and Levi Johnson's ages weren't unusual, and still aren't, from where I'm standing. And I know I've encountered stats indicating that there's always been a fairly consistent pregnancy rate among brides, even when religion was more dominant in everyday life.

I think they're just mad we didn't hold a stoning.CMinorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07305306030099439903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13522238.post-63033198313590563602008-09-13T07:08:00.000-04:002008-09-13T07:08:00.000-04:00"They don't get it. They don't understand at all."..."They don't get it. They don't understand at all."

Very true. Many people on the Left do not know any Christians as real people they meet and interact with on even an infrequent basis. To them we are merely the strawmen they have in their mental images of Christians. They assumed that we would react with horror in regard to Palin's daughter's pregnancy and when, to their vast disappointment, we did not, it must be because we are hypocrites. They do not understand that for the vast majority of us it is only sin we hate and that we really do love the sinners. Many of them are so Biblically illiterate that the power of the episode of Jesus and the woman caught in adultery completely escapes them. One of the reasons we have a Culture War is because so many of our elites are simply ignorant of Christianity and the force it plays in the lives of their fellow citizens.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13522238.post-37074792736988671072008-09-12T22:52:00.000-04:002008-09-12T22:52:00.000-04:00Insightful grouping of articles and an interesting...Insightful grouping of articles and an interesting read.
