If you want tan/yellow bricks, that's the normal color in Dayton unless you buy red on purpose. (Because that's the river clay color around here.) I guess they probably have tan bricks in Columbus too.

Anyway, you can lay a brick patio with just sand to hold the bricks, or you can do it with mortar. I imagine sand would be better, because then the mortar wouldn't crack if the earth settles. And if you mess up, you can always get more sand and try again.Bansheehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12594214770417497135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13522238.post-76685037856853901962014-09-13T14:06:58.748-04:002014-09-13T14:06:58.748-04:00Really? I didn't know Columbus had neighborhoods like that too, though it does not surprise me. Westwood is nice. There are some really lovely homes there, and they're affordable, too.Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05117120475033380036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13522238.post-15533930655167343372014-09-13T10:28:11.795-04:002014-09-13T10:28:11.795-04:00Oh, Cheviot's got its charms! But we're not in Cincinnati, but north of Columbus. I wish we lived in Cincinnati, because I love that city. The commute would be a bit extreme, however.MrsDarwinhttp://darwincatholic.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13522238.post-65999092041328164542014-09-12T22:56:53.353-04:002014-09-12T22:56:53.353-04:00Your house is cool. We just sold our house in the city, and we sure sunk enough money into it that we should have just bought one of the more historic ones we were hankering after in Sayler Park instead of going with the Chev-wah. I would have felt better about loosing all that money. Live and learn, I guess. Your house looks worth the investment.Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05117120475033380036noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13522238.post-81066660622573152232014-09-11T16:46:26.083-04:002014-09-11T16:46:26.083-04:00Maybe you can find some grant for historic preserv...Maybe you can find some grant for historic preservation!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00913546669463413856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13522238.post-30262165679870384292014-09-11T08:59:31.958-04:002014-09-11T08:59:31.958-04:00I loved that telephone box in the hallway!

Sam did too. The boy wants one of those for his very own.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13472686909226073213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13522238.post-58825747344351445832014-09-11T01:19:15.614-04:002014-09-11T01:19:15.614-04:00I must note that I refinished those doors on the p...I must note that I refinished those doors on the porch myself, without which they certainly would not have lasted one more winter, so you can see we're making small bits of progress. mrsdarwinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03446744635277205867noreply@blogger.com
