At least you know where you went with thos...Ouch! <br /><br />At least you know where you went with those 1000 words, so it shouldn't be *that* hard to rewrite. Theoretically. Demoralizing perhaps, but not as difficult.<br /><br />If I may, I'd strongly suggest setting up at least <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/" rel="nofollow">Dropbox</a> and keeping your writing in that. It will automatically sync as your write (you do need to remember to save occasionally, but that's it) and if things go sideways you can restore previous versions (up to 30 days).<br /><br />If you're extra paranoid (I am :)), you can use an offsite backup as well (I use <a href="http://www.crashplan.com/" rel="nofollow">CrashPlan</a>). It's a lifesaver!
