I was up reading last night till around 2am.
Another potter fan tearing through Book 7? No, our copy of Harry Potter is still somewhere in Amazon's keeping, likely to arrive today or Monday.
I was reading Frank Sheed's The Church and I.
I'll write more on it when I'm finished, but for those with an interest in what happened in the forty years leading up to Vatican II, and how that somehow lead to the chaos of the 60s and 70s, go find a copy.

It's a lovely book, Mr. Sheed's. Do check out Sheed and Ward's "Ecumenical Hymn", which I believe is in the first third of the book. It ends with Dean Swift's parody of the Calvinists of his day:
We are the sweet, selected few:
The rest of you are damned.
There's room enough in Hell for you.
We can't have Heaven crammed.
(To be sung to the hymn tune, "O God, our help in ages past")
I don't want to read the Potter book .... but I have to know if Harry dies or not! I am sure it won't be long before some child at school is able to tell me!
Now I have another book to read! Curses! :-)
