One of the great things about the Darwins, in my view, is the way in which they combine sound, orthodox Catholicism, clear and concise conservatism, and healthy, objective scientific skepticism. They illustrate quite nicely how one can be a successful Christian humanist without sacrificing the norms of truth in this time of fundamentalist dogmatic ideology. Thanks, Scott! That's high praise coming from such an esteemed source. In return, we'll pay the highest compliment one blogger can give another -- we'll send some traffic your way. Check out Scott's posts on the fallacious reasoning of the lawyer who claims the Bush Administration forced her to have an abortion, on applying reason to the abortion debates, and on the hermeneutics of the laity who are reading and engaging Church documents. Essential reading, all.

Why you should be reading us
Here's a birthday tribute to us from Scott Carson, the sage who writes Examined Life:
In return, we'll pay the highest compliment one blogger can give another -- we'll send some traffic your way.
