Extreme Home Makeover, Darwin edition

Usually an extreme makeover involves before and after pictures, but the before pictures were taken in the wrong light, and consequently are indistinguishable from a black cave. After rampaging all over my house for the past several weeks in search of a suitable photo of my living room pre-paint, I've finally given up. You'll just have to take my word for it that where now there is painty goodness, there was once a bland white box.

Presenting my living room, painted:

Darwins... it appears that your camera has reversed the living room. Or that the photo was developed from the wrong side of the film. Otherwise, that would have been one heck of a remodel. Looks good. Oh yes, it's very nice-ah.

Is that red on your walls?

I need to paint my office at the parish . . . how does a Byzantine-icon sort of red and gold sound?

You guys moved? The new place looks nice. Give me directions and I'll come down and visit.

Sounds good to me, Father! I actually wanted something of that effect, but the gold paint didn't seem to sit right in my living room. If your office can handle it, I say more power to your paint brush.

Darwin would probably approve of a Byzantine color palette, but the above post was me, not him. One forgets one must sign in...

Looks very nice, indeed.
Now if I could just get some painting accomplished around my house...
A blessed day to you all...

Wow, very nice! I really like it. I bet that is quite an improvement over the white box you had before!

I love it! Especially since I've seen your living room in its "before" state. Not that your previous living room looked bad, but I love the drama that the new paint provides. Good move not having the red go all the way up to the ceiling! I wish I had your imagination. I'm painting my new house and the whole interior is just going to be off white. Too bad you don't live nearby. You could have given me advice.
