A little Blues Traveler for your weekend, from Four ("the angry cat CD!" my girls call it). Here are two of my favorites, Hook and The Mountains Win Again.

I still think their best album was their first one. And I'm still kicking myself that I never saw them live.

I hated The Mountains Win Again the first fifty times I heard it. Then suddenly I loved it.
Joel, I actually haven't heard much of their other albums. Like tons of other people, I guess, I bought Four because I loved Hook: it's the Canon in D funked up with that 7th chord! What other Blues Traveler stuff would you recommend?
Melanie, I don't tend to pay a lot of attention to the words on that one, because they've never really applied to me, but I love the music.
mrsD, their first album (which was called Blues Traveler) had a bunch of good tunes: the first track, But Anyway, got a lot of radio play in the early 90's and is probably what put the band on the map at first; and the last track, Sweet Talkin' Hippie, has a longish jam that proved their musical chops. (I still crank that one on occasion.) Also, a lot of people liked Crystal Flame, it was another minor hit for them, though it didn't quite move me. But really, every track on that album is good, no real weak spots.
I also bought Travelers and Thieves, their second album, and was much less impressed. So it goes.
Joel
