Three Weeks Wonderful

Baby has a perpetual expression of suspicion or concern. This is the result of having four loving older siblings.

Having a three-week-old baby is just perfect. I love babies -- I just don't love the work and time it takes to get them to this state of infant gorgeousness. If the stork really did drop off children fully gestated, I'd have one every year. Too bad biology don't play that way...

Baby is at her best in pastels -- even this pink outfit is a bit livid for her complexion. We call her the Peach because 1) she looks like a peach, and 2) she's got hair.

And just for kicks, here's a three week postpartum picture:

She's stunning! And you're looking pretty amazing yourself! First a virtually painless birth and now an incredibly quick journey back to your pre-pregnancy jeans...what is your secret? Stop holding out on us! ;)

*jaw drop*

That's three weeks postpartum? Are your kids all adopted?

Show off! Hmph. No one will be seeing photos of my abdomen 3 weeks post-partum. Good for you!

And fair Diana is just gorgeous.

Not to undercut MrsDarwin's good looks at all, but before anyone gets too jealous they might want to stage some experiments of their own in that:

a) It occurs to me that standing sideways with your arms up to hold the camera is probably one of the most slimming postures one could adopt.

b) Having a bathroom sink in the foreground (necessarily large cause of the rules of perspective) will probably make you look smaller.

Though of course, I would be the first to say that MrsD simply looks hot. ;-)

I was hoping that the large sink in the foreground would distract the eye from the large spot on the wall where someone went at it with ball-point pen.

Also helping: new non-maternity jeans in a larger size than any currently in my drawer. One looks better in clothes that fit, no matter what size. And these jeans aren't stretched out yet. :)

How beautiful she is! I do hope the hair stays.

I don't care how big the bathroom sink is or even if it's a whole tub, and I don't care what jeans I'm wearing, I don't look like that at 1 year postpartum! Some women just have great genes.

Yeah, first she claims to have a painless childbirth, and then she claims to be that person in the mirror. Perhaps MrsDarwin is really some kind of fembot.

This is what I looked like two weeks postpartum, and it wasn't much different a week later.

You look great! I hope I'm that skinny at 3 weeks post-birth.

You're daughter is so cute. I'm at 36 weeks. It's so nice to look at sweet baby pictures and remind myself that all this discomfort is for a good cause!

Shameless boasting, Mrs. D! That is one beautiful baby and one superfast slimdown. I'm guessing you gained less than the weight of a bushel with the pretty Peach.
