When Darwin and I were first dating, my younger sister (then 7 or 8) asked me, "Does Darwin love you because you're beautiful or because you're smart?"
"Because I'm smart," I said.
She considered for a moment and then said, "No, that's not it."

So my four year old looks at me and says in a bright sunshiny voice, "Mommy your belly is fat." My six year old immediately jumps to my defense and says, "Mommy's belly is not fat. She has had babies in there so it's just all stretched out. And besides it only looks that way because her back has a curve in it."
At this point I surely hope I am intelligent with a charming personality.
