Hungry yet?

Via Suburban CEO comes this comparison of fast food pictured in ads vs. its actual appearance.

Every now and then (usually on Fridays) I get a craving for the perfect burger -- juicy, thick, and on a crusty bun. Sonic, where we usually pick up burgers, is okay, and I remember In 'N Out fondly from our California days. Steakhouse burgers are generally acceptable. But if you want the gen-u-ine article, you gotta make it yourself. Preferably with homemade steakfries.

Well, as long as it tastes the same...

Fast food never tastes like you imagine it will.

I have to say, I saw those pics yesterday on her site and the thought of them has cured all my fast-food cravings ever since. I should put them on my desktop!

Ew. And yet, I rest serene in my conviction that Arby's is the food of the gods.

There's a small burger store over here which I visit quite frequently, up to once every week, to buy one small/children sized burger, which is simply delicious. No fries, just that small burger, which is not fried, but grilled (the meat is really good and does not get dry), on lovely bread, just a little toasted on the moment, with fresh tomato, onion and salad and a light sauce. It's a little treat for me, and combined with a soup, orange juice and a nice fruit and fresh cheese dessert, it is a light, unexpensive and flavourful meal, and not as unhealthy as it could seem.

But I hate all burgers from fast-food chains, to me they taste like overboiled fat. And my stomach complains. My burgers at home are OK, but I still have to learn the fine art of grilling meat non-rare but not dry... (I do not like rare meat).
