Some are loudly mocking Obama for this. I'd say give the guy a break.
The king is but a man, as I am: the violet smells to him as it doth to me: the element shows to him as it doth to me; all his senses have but human conditions:Presidents are a lower species than kings, but the principle applies. And we must recall that the wisdom of the American people has given us a president who hasn't yet had the years of practice in checking out passing babes without allowing it to be obvious to the camera. Give it some time, and when his senses kick in with human conditions as the element shows to him, he'll gaze upon it with the same cool aplomb as Sarkozy.

I don't think President Bush leered at women's behinds.
Obama is simply showing us the kind of man we elected for the Presidency.
Does anyone remember William Jefferson Clinton and Monica Lewinsky?
I am absolutely no apologist for the president, but I don't think a chance look counts as "leering". There are plenty of real things to blame Obama for. This is amusing, but I don't think it reflects badly on his character.
Obama: "Now THAT's a stimulus package!"
Sorry...it was just screaming to come out.
From the early stages of our government, Presidents and other politicians have been, to put it mildly...checking out the scenery, and sometimes they get a very close look. Just think of how many of our Presidents in history have had affairs and have fathered children from women other than their wives. I don't excuse this behavior, I think it's terrible. But as you say, this was just a glance caught by a very astute cameraman. To be honest, I feel bad for the young girl being checked out...having a picture of her backside splattered all over the Internet.
I'm not an Obama supporter by any means, but this is just something to laugh at at the end of a long week.

I suppose that "Is this the rear that launched a thousand posts?" doesn't have quite the same ring as the more classic line in praise of Helen...
Me, I just giggle. It's funny!
Purposely not going any deeper into it than that-- I already launched into a counter-argument against the Beasty Boys' "Fight for your Right to Party."
Buttgate '09! What did he see and when did he see it? Let's assemble the techno-wizrards of science and film and see if they can determine using holograms just where he was looking...Of course it's not the crime, it's the cover-up (or lack thereof).
I'm with Darwin. Cut the guy some slack. As for the poor woman, I'm sure her choice of clothing was entirely random....
:)
Not so clear cut, after all...

Personally, I am not convinced that the President was actually checking her out. I don't have any other facts than the photograph but it looks like he was looking at someone further down the steps they were on, and this woman just happened to be in a convenient place for a scandalous photograph.
It makes me somewhat sad that I should have to say this anywhere, but to forestall the Democratic-partisan comments I might receive I just want to say I can't stand that man's policies. Or Democratic politics for that matter.
I feel more sorry for the woman than the President. She should be treated with honor, not the 'sex object' of a scandal. I would also like to defend my President, but I wonder if this one is actually worth it.
This will be posted as anonymous, but my real name is Patrick.
If he wasn't checking her out, it was a phenomenally well-timed snapshot.
If I were the gal in the picture, I'd just be relieved it wasn't my face materializing on computer screens all over the world.
Somebody needs to clue in the prez that junior G-8 delegates are strictly off limits. Sixteen'll getcha twenty, and all that.
I just checked out that youtube video.
He was clearly helping the other lady down the stairs. That being said, He may have very easily snuck in a quick peek while helping her. it's just automatic human nature for heterosexual men to check out attractive women. We all do it, Republican or Democrat. Married or not, & whether we admit it or not. The polite thing for us guys to do is at least not be obvious about it in public (thank heaven for mirrored sun glasses lol).
