You know it's going to be one of those days...

...When you find the baby shoving CDs into the VCR. And it's not even 9:30 yet.

CDs? VCR?

Please tell me this is a leftover babysitting story from 1989 your just now blogging about.

Other than the tendency for little ones to put odd stuff in them, VCRs are great for around kids-- DVDs scratch, but you can launch a tape across the room and onto cement with a good chance of it working without a hitch.

Oh, come: are we the only ones in 2007 to have a combo DVD/VCR player? And I said CDs, not LPs.

CD's are so 15 years ago. Of course, it could just be that my CD's are so 15 years ago. Spin Doctors, Belly, Cranberries, Soup Dragons. Yikes. Actually, I have your husband to blame for my recent addiction to Magnatune.com.

I can certainly appreciate that some people have DVD/VCR combos. I'm also told that dirigibles can still occasionally be seen over modern games of sport.

In the greater context of your story, it's clear that your baby is a bright one. She was only *slightly* off in her CD placement. She knew they go in that machine somewhere...

Hey--that beats shoving a piece of toast into the VCR--or half a roll of toilet paper down the drain.

:)

Oh, you should see her sisters operate the machine... they're old pros.

John,

Now that the baby is enamored of the toilet, I see a lot more of toilet paper than I wish I had to.
