Baby, you're much too fast

This morning, while I wasn't paying attention, the baby:

a) Got into the cat food and threw it around the floor;
b) Splashed in the cat's water and soaked himself;
c) Climbed up to the THIRD STAIR -- slow down, Mr. Man, you're only nine months old and I don't need you to move so fast and anyway you couldn't get your leg up that high only last week so I thought we were still safe;
d) All of the freakin' above.

My internal speed limit has been violated.

Oh my, you have my sympathies since we have a quite active little boy as well!

My first daughter was about one when she did the same with the dog's food and water but add to that - she got hold of my wallet, emptied it and ripped up everything made of paper (money, business cards, social security card, etc.) and neatly put it all in the water bowl...

Our four-month old is just starting to roll over entirely. It's amazing how fast those suckers can be without the use of their legs.

The only thing you can depend on with small children is that they will make huge developmental strides long before you expect them to. Though an ever vigilant mom, even I had a few surprises.

I keep laughing over this post. Think of it this way: he is setting himself up for a future career as an engineer with all the wonderful spatial awareness he is gaining!!!

Kiwi, after I posted I watched him climb the entire staircase. Then within the course of half an hour I pulled him out of the bathroom where he was pulling up on the toilet, took him off the table after he climbed out of his high chair (which used to be a safe place!) and removed him from the cat food three more times. A play pen is sounding like a good option right about now.

Lol adventurous wee lad. Now which tree in the backyard do you see him climbing first?
