Real Living

This is for Jennifer: a candid snapshot of my girls' bedroom, unretouched.

Note the unmade beds (par), the stuff all over the desk (par for every flat surface in our house), the half-opened drawers, and the near-lack of wall adornment. On the other hand, I made those curtains myself.

Photograhy advice from Darwin: It's necessary to have the camera meter according to the lighting level of the walls, not the window. Makes the room look less dreary. (And lets you see the mess more clearly.) :-)

Thank you for keepin' it real.

Although...my first thought was, "wow, they have those fancy curtains that look so nice!"

I should note that the room is actually cleaner than usual because we've had lots of visitors lately.

Cute curtains, Mrs D!

What a good idea. Very keeping it real! I'd post a picture of my girls' room, but they're already in bed. Then you could see the piles of boxes full of baby clothes, the toys strewn everywhere and books piled on the play kitchen counter.

What is the secret to NOT having piles of stuff on every flat surface available. I don't have a clue!!??
