From Melanie, a book meme. And like her, I have a hard time resisting checking books I've read off a list.

Books on the list I've read:
Crime and Punishment
Pride and Prejudice
Great Expectations*
Brave New World
The Count of Monte Cristo*
1984
Cryptonomicon
A Confederacy of Dunces
Dubliners
Slaughterhouse Five
Lolita
The Catcher in the Rye

Books I was assigned to read, and therefore probably didn't:
A Tale of Two Cities
The Iliad
A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man
The Aeneid
Wuthering Heights
The Scarlet Letter
Tess of the D'Urbervilles
The Odyssey
Books I started but didn't finish:
The Picture of Dorian Gray (first 10 pages)
The Fountainhead (first 20 pages)
Atlas Shrugged (first 900 pages)
Reading Lolita in Tehran: a memoir in books (I don't think I even finished the introduction)
A Clockwork Orange (first chapter)
*I read the comic book.
I actually did read all of Clockwork Orange. (It's better than the movie.)
I also read Guns, Germs and Steel and am part way through Collapse, but other than that (and I don't think those make one particularly well read) MrsDarwin is far better read than I.
I recommend you add Guns, Germs, and Steel to your plan-to-read list. It is thought-provoking. I thought it well worth the time.
