Nothing exciting here except convalescence and general weakness and binge-watching Daniel Deronda on Amazon. But in the mail a package arrived, bearing an advance copy of Julie Davis's new book, Thus Sayeth the Lord. Julie has been writing at Happy Catholic for as long as we've been blogging here, so I already know that her book is going to be engaging, well-written, and packed with Scripture.
You can read a sample chapter, on the prophetess Deborah, here.
And then you can drop your name in the comments at Happy Catholic to enter to win a free copy.

Thank you!
Oh cool!
I'm always up for free books. I hope you and your household are on the mend. No fun to be sick all at once- but I don't know whether it is worse to be sick one by one. Just for anecdotal evidence: We actually did get the flu shot last fall before Thanksgiving travel, for the first time since 2011. And so far, only my husband, who didn't get it, has been sick this year, when it seems everyone is falling ill. Now that I've said this, we'll probably get sick next week.
I had a low grade fever when writing this yesterday, so it occurs to me that I probably made it sound like the drawing was happening here, in my comments, instead of over at Julie's place. Follow the link in the post to leave your name in her comments for the drawing! And sorry for being so incoherent. We're on the mend, gradually...
