On Target

Interesting article in the Washington Times about a US Army sniper making the longest confirmed kill shot on record with a .30 cal rifle: 1,100 yards.

The sites on my Enfield go up to 1300 yards, I wonder if anyone made a shot like that in WWII. Anyway I had a bad day of shooting yesterday, having trouble hitting the target, let alone the center at 100 yds!

I'm wanting to get out to the range soon myself. I brought home from CA my dad's old Marlin 39A leveraction .22, and I'm itching to see how it does at 100-200 yards. Up to this point, I've only owned hand guns, so I'm a very good shot at 15-25 yards, but rifle shooting is something haven't done much of since the good old days of my early teens, when I used to spend upwards of four hours a day practicing with my air rifle in the back yard...
