For commenter Laura: here I am reading a chapter from our current book, Little Women. It doesn't have lots of variation, but it does have the virtue of being quite short.

This was great! A sad chapter, though. My dad read Little Women to us when we were little and this brought back memories. Thanks for posting it!
So this was obviously recorded in the middle of the night while the children were sleeping. Yes? Because read-alouds in my house usually have the accompanying soundtrack of banshees. I am duly impressed by the background silence.
The baby was asleep, and the rest were in another room, behind several closed doors, playing Risk with Daddy. Because when I tried to put people in another room and record, I would get about six minutes into reading and then someone would burst into the room in the loudest manner possible.
The banshees reside at your house too!
I tried to listen to this and the banshees descended and overwhelmed my computer speakers. Either I have to find my headphones or wait till after bedtime.
